The past month in art has been very busy with a lot going on. We've started a lot of new projects and taken risks with many different new projects. The things we've worked on most recently were the blind contour, the self portrait, the newspaper ink and I did a lot of independent drawings. The blind contour was very challenging for me and I really had to work on solving problems because I am usually very specific about details. I had to work on accepting the fact that blind contours aren't supposed to be perfect. The self portait was fun for me and I think I learned a lot because last year I did a portrait of my dad and it was a big challenge for me. I spent a lot of time on it and had to come back to it many times. This year I've chosen to focus more on drawing and sticking with my art even when it becomes difficult. This includes developing skills. This year I've really been more involved and into taking risks with my art and creating original art to see where it takes me. My most recent piece of art is still in progress but I'm really enjoying working on it and excited to see where it takes me. I have to admit it was really hard for me at first because I sat staring at the paper for a while. I wanted to just let the pencil flow but I couldn't even think of what to do or how to let go of some control. I finally started drawing and just kept going and I'm really excited to see where it goes and how it turns out. I look forward to continuing with this piece of art and solve problems to further my potential in art.
